Originally from Lancashire, I moved to the Lakes in 2004 and never looked back. I now work at Lancaster University, supporting students in their online learning, and when I am not doing that or looking after my two kids, I like to get out on the lakes with a paddleboard, strum a guitar or pick a ukulele with a local ukulele group. I have always loved music and song of every genre, but classical music, from Gregorian Chant through to the current day has a special place in my heart. I fell in love with classical music through listening to scratchy vinyl bought at Church jumble sales in my teens, and am still blown away by its ability to cut through and instantly connect with emotions or vividly bring back to life distant memories long forgotten. There’s nothing like it, and I am very lucky to be part of Lake District Radio and play some of the greatest music ever written and share the pleasure, emotions and sheer joy it can bring with others in the local community.
